Affiliate Marketing: Does It REALLY Work?

The reader asks, " This affiliate marketing thing, does it actually work?"

The truth is, affiliate marketing is not just finding a random vendor that is selling a product, and taking his product link and mashing it into the middle of your blog. This perspective about affiliate marketing is one of the key reasons why so many people who try it are not making money off of it! In fact, affiliate marketing is not something you can just place there and let it sit, expecting bags full of money in return. No, affiliate marketing is something you have to work for; just like any other way you earn money, you have to dedicate you time into it to expect something in return! Otherwise, just forget about this crap because there is no reason for you to waste your time on it.

Do you really want to find out the truth about affiliate marketing? I mean, of course this won't work for unconcerned people who add random links once a month, but does how about the really dedicated people who really want to make money? Does it actually work and will it ever provide a steady income?

If you carefully analyze the way a successful affiliate marketer works you'll notice that the methods they use do actually earn money? But how do we do this?

The thing is, when a affiliate marketer posts a link on a product, he makes sure that the product is something that the marketer himself is somewhat familiar with. He does not have to know every single detail about the item, but he should have a vague idea of what it is. If he just picked out some random item to advertise on, how would he know how to tell people about it? The item the marketer is selling should be somewhat relevant to the other items he posts on, not something like selling a Hummer in one post and selling eco-friendly trash bags in the next.

Another point that makes an affiliate marketer successful is that he helps the reader understand what the product IS! If the reader doesn't know what the item is, how in the world is he going to want to buy it? These informative pieces of clear, outlined information can help readers understand if it is something they want. They may even refer it to a friend!

The last point is a very crucial point. The items you are selling and the blog you are using, are you actually going out and advertising them? If you are not advertising it, how do you expect anyone to know about it? It would be like a scientist finding a drug to stop cancer and not telling anyone about it!

Using these simple points and ideas, I hope that you, as a reader, will keep in mind all the factors in successful affiliate marketing business and make a good career out of it! Good Luck!
